Christina Applegate Jokes Through Tears That Emmys Crowd Shouldn't 'Applaud' Everything She Does amid MS Journey

Christina Applegate received a standing ovation from the audience at the Emmy Awards 2023 when she entered the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

She navigated the stage with the use of a cane and the help of the night's host, Anthony Anderson.

"Thank you so much! Oh my God! You're totally shaming me [and my] disability by standing up," she said, generating laughter from the audience.

Body not by Ozempic," Applegate added, slyly referencing the popular weight loss drug.

"We don't have to applaud every time I do something," she added after receiving another round of applause.

Applegate then ad-libbed, "I'm going to cry more than I've been crying," while she spoke of her first-ever onscreen appearance in a 1972 episode of Days of Our Lives.
